Issue Eight
Letter from the Editor
At times we get caught up in the politics of life...
Progression is what life is about. Passion drives it. Integrity will sustain it.
At times we get caught up in the politics of life, in the business of survival and lose perspective. It was a sobering experience this week, on a personal level, to hear of the passing of a friend from college that stopped me and, once again, made me think of the short fragility of life...So we must make the best of it, the best use of our time.
I view Traffic East as I view life: a work in progress. It is about quality and being true to itself–editorially. I see it, put together, as a kind of work of art, and by being so, it should speak for itself, engage people in different ways, be interesting visually and stimulate thought in some way or another.
In its name,Traffic denotes movement, which is precisely what we would like Traffic East to do, move–editorially, anywhere and everywhere–physically, in print, and electronically at www.trafficeast.com.
In keeping, this issue is certainly our most editorially diverse–with creative essays, and pieces on and about music, opera, architecture, film, science, literature, fiction, poetry, fashion and much more.
We hope you enjoy the issue and thank you for staying with us in Traffic!
