My good friend John says this is what it’s all about:
Work hard, search your soul.

I think about life all of the time because I have children. I try to set an example for my children in the best way I can–by giving respect to all that is around me.

My good friend John says this is what it’s all about: “It’s about having a pretty good time and leaving the world a better place than when you came into it.”

In this issue Keith Frome takes us into the world of Zen Buddhism at the the Rochester Zen Center. In his piece, Greed, Anger and Delusion: The Burning Questions of The Rochester Zen Center, Keith explores how Zen Buddhism may relate now, after September 11th.

Luanne diBernardo has contributed two great pieces to this issue. Luanne wrote, The Little Atelier Around the Corner, our style/fashion profile on Italian born designer, seamstress Sabastiana Paras. In Luanne's second piece, The Man of the Hour Glass, she walks, talks and dines with restaurateur, wine expert/connoisseur Theodore Bechakas of the Hourglass Restaurant.

Albright Knox curator Kenneth Wayne and Susan Scholterer have written our feature art profile. Here we look at the life of the great italian born artist Amedeo Modigliani. This article coincides with the current Albright Knox exhibition, Modigliani and the Artists of Montparnasse, which Ken organized.

Jennifer Tappenden and Karen Lewis have have interviewed the architects/publishers of the poetry publication Slipstream, now in it’s 18th year.

Kevin Connors has written a piece on the sometimes controversial, pioneering architecture of Frank O. Gehry. Alex Szabo has contributed some great photographs to this piece.

Don Scott has written another great humorous essay on cell phones and head sets in, Distracted? Attach Things to Your Head.

John Jones explores Hunger in his essay. JoAnn Faletta has written a piece on J.S. Bach. We have also featured some of the mixed media collage works of Terri Katz Kazimov, which she produced in response to 9/11.

Finally, check out Craig’s painting to the right of this spread. Craig painted this in relation to Keith’s “Zen” article. Thanks Craig.

God bless, have a great holiday and thanks to all who have contributed and all who have been so enthusiastic in their support in 2002.
